About Us


Dental Assistant School of Nashville Dr. Kellye N. Rice

Dr. Rice believes in a warm and personal approach to helping people expand their career opportunities into the field of dental assisting. She is a native of Huntsville, Alabama, receiving her B.S. in Biology from David Lipscomb University, and then going on to complete her dental degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. She and her husband, Jeff, moved to Franklin in 1986, where she opened her dental practice in the Cool Springs area.

Dr. Rice is a proud member of the American Dental Association and its state and local chapters, and has received numerous ACE awards for post graduate continuing education beyond their annual requirements. She is also a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and a student at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies where she learns the latest techniques and technology to deliver the best possible dental care. She has attended extensive coursework at the Kois Center for Excellence in Dentistry in Seattle, and has completed courses and continuums at the Dawson Center in St. Petersburg. She is both a certified Lumineer and Durathin trained clinician, and believes in a very individual approach to cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Rice is a board member for Morning Star Sanctuary, a haven for those who suffer from the effects of domestic violence and is currently serving as the Board President. She is also active on the board for the newly formed Franklin Suzuki Academy, enriching the lives of young string musicians in Williamson County, and a member of the Middle Tennessee Suzuki Association.

Dr. Rice and her husband, Jeff, have three children, Haley, Hunter and Hope. They are members of the Brentwood Hills Church of Christ. For fun Dr. Rice enjoys playing the drums, piano, and violin, and has a special place in her heart for local theaters she has been involved in with her family, Pull-Tight Players in Franklin and the Town Centre Theatre in Brentwood.




Dental Assistant School of Nashville Kaye Burton, Registrar

Mrs. Kaye Burton is a native of Huntsville, Alabama. She received her bachelor's degree in computer science and business administration from David Lipscomb University in 1986. She has extensive experience in human resources and administration, serving as a benefits counselor from 1989 to 1995 at the University of Georgia. She has been an invaluable asset to the office of Dr. Kellye Rice and Cool Springs Laser Dentistry for the past 21 years. Her love of dentistry and helping patients overflows into her student mentoring as they enter academics and the field of dental assisting.




Dental Assistant School of Nashville Janeane Kinnaman, Instructor

Mrs. Janeane Kinnaman, RDH, is originally from Waverly, Tennessee. She started working as a dental assistant when she was 17 years old. She entered East Tennessee State University in 1976, going on to receive her degree in dental hygiene. While earning that degree, she worked as dental assistant in the campus dental clinic. After graduation, she returned to the Nashville area and began her career as a dental hygienist . Janeane feels so lucky that in her 40 years of service to the dental community she has be able to help in all aspects of the dental field, but especially happy to influence the next generation of dental assistants. Her students love to learn from her!
